MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD AT BALLINA RSL CLUB 13 November

MEETING COMMENCED: 6.15pm

BUSINESS ARISING:
Apology from the WOOD re on going commitment for lucky door and monthly mug prizes in regards to last meeting.

Graham Brown said “We have received a bill from the sub branch for the bus for $338.85 for the Miami trip on the 26 October, 2007. Bill to be referred to treasurer for scrutiny.

TREASURERS REPORT:

Treasurer absent. Report read by committee. Current Balance $4655. Max raised that we need to see if the Legacy Cheque has been paid. It is not contained in the report. Graham Brown said “That will be a fight.”

SPORTS COUNCIL REPORT:

Graham B – Nothing arising.

CAPTAINS REPORT:

Vice Captain Buckingham presents report; the only incident was the incident with the bus which has been sorted out. We only had 10 players on Sunday due to the weather. Damien did a good job on the trip away. Nothing else was outstanding.

HANDICAPPERS REPORT:

Everything is up to date except the last two trips away. The golf club will not accept old non AGU cards. I keep those out and do those handicaps and put the AGU cards in. I don’t know why I should put the non AGU cards as I don’t think the club looks at them.

GENERAL BUSINESS

Max – On the 2/10/07 Damien said he will put out the program but have not seen it.
Brown – the match committee starts the program. Nobody sees the program until it goes to print. He has got it down but he needs to confirm a few dates.
Kel – He has a draft but was not here to show it to us.
Paul; No issue arising.
Kel: No names should be taken unless there is a deposit for away trips given that we had a few no shows for the combined shield. Combined shield should be 20 dollars deposit and other away trips should be 50 dollars.
Paul: It should be non refundable unless you can organize your own replacement.
Rob: There should be dispensation if you are injured.
Paul proposes motion: I move that a non refundable deposit be paid prior to each away trip consisting of half the cost.

Rob: On Sunday at Miami in regards buggies carts need to be allocated to those who booked.
Browny: Carts at Miami must be booked by yourself not the club.
Kel: If you want a buggy you can book your own.
Steve: I will be completing an article for the club news for the next meeting. The Bunnings BBQ presents an opportunity for recruitment as I had a few inquiries. We should have fixture cards and an info sheet for those interested to join.

Graham B – I was disappointed with the turn up at Banora. But I have nothing else so I will declare the meeting closed.
