Snooker Club – General News

Ballina RSL Snooker Club members have not been sitting around since the snooker tables were removed from the RSL Club, whilst club renovations are being carried out.

Firstly the snooker club committee and members assisted with the removal of the tables, they have been holding regular committee meetings to keep members together while no games are being played. However, some members have had some games at the Lismore Workers Club, to keep their skills in tact!

A barbeque was held and some fishing done at Bill Palmer’s (Snooker Club President) house, then the members got involved with fund raising at a trivia night to assist Chris Hendry and his mum to go to China. Chris will be competing in Shanghai at the World Special Olympics where he will take part in several Track and Field Events. Chris, we wish you the best of luck!

Special thanks must go to the Board and Management of the Ballina RSL Club Ltd for the donation of $1,000 to assist Chris in his travels.

With more fundraising to be completed, the Snooker Club has organized a charity golf day at Wardell Sports Club on the 29th of July and everyone is asked to join in.

When the snooker tables are back in September the Snooker Club intends to arrange a competition involving the RSL Club Management, Staff and the Snooker Club Members.
