Things Are Looking Up
As you may remember, in late 2005, the Ballina RSL Club Ltd released its ‘vision for an exciting and secure future’ with a special feature in the October ‘05 edition of Club Life. That issue featured concept masterplans for the refurbishment of the Ground Floor of the River Street Club premises as top priority.
At the 2006 Ballina RSL Club Ltd Annual General Meeting, members were given an insight into the Ground Floor refurbishment and discussed the temporary facilities that will be on the First Floor during the first stage of the renovation program.
After much planning throughout 2006 by the Board of Directors and Management, the complete refurbishment of Ballina RSL Club’s Ground Floor is indeed about to become a reality.
Work will begin in mid-April (subject to Council approval) and is estimated to take around 16 – 18 weeks. On completion, the ground floor will have greatly enhanced river views, new outdoor terraces, gaming and cashier facilities, a new sports bar and lounge, a new café bar, reception and more.
Along with the exciting new look will come a range of wonderful additional services for club members and the wider community. The improvements will make the Club one of the region’s most impressive lifestyle and tourism attractions and take all of our services and facilities to a whole new level.
In fact, with an army of builders, carpenters, electricians, plumbers and painters taking over the Club’s ground floor for stage 1 of the project, we’re moving everything – dining, entertainment and all – up to the first floor!
It will be business as usual during the renovations, and you can rest assured that the management and staff of the Ballina RSL Club will do their utmost to ensure that your comfort, safety and enjoyment of the Club are not diminished.
We’ll even have ‘peep holes’ in the hoarding so you can keep track of progress – sticky-beaking is actively encouraged!
Once the work on the ground floor is complete, the first floor will resume its pre-renovation format.
Our ‘Guide to Using Ballina RSL’s First Floor Facilities during Renovations’ starts on page 5 of this issue of Club Life. Regular progress reports will be posted on the website (www.ballinarsl.com.au), and distributed through the Club’s e-newsletter (you can subscribe from the club’s website).
