BALLINA RSL Limited Bowling Club is becoming the home of new bowlers in the region with successful initiatives to attract the young, young at heart and the not so young.
On Friday evening the club’s latest initiative is to commence Barefoot Bowls at Canal Road.
“Played in a two-bowl triples format anyone wanting to wind down after the working week is welcome to come along and have a go,” said Greg Danvers - Youth Development Officer at Ballina RSL Ltd Bowling Club.
“The theme is to have fun and experience bowls in a relaxed and social atmosphere.
“Registrations will be taken from 5pm and close about 5:45pm with play to commence after the Ode.”
The successful Youth Development Programme takes it’s next step on Saturday mornings with progression to a competition format for not only Ballina RSL Bowling Club members, young bowlers from the region welcome.
“The response from the youngsters has been very encouraging and most have progressed quickly to a point where more formal competition will start this coming weekend,” said Danvers.
